Dementia is one of the most important health issues we face as our population ages.
According to the Alzheimer’s Society, there are estimated to be over 820,000 people in the UK with dementia and 163,000 new cases occurring in England and Wales each year.
As a result, health and social care services in particular will spend more time caring for people with dementia, many with complex needs. But with a better understanding of treatment and care, there is more scope to make real improvements in the quality of life for people who are affected.
The Dementia Training Centre provides high quality training about dementia, care and aspects of old age mental health for:
- Health and social care professionals
- Care home managers and their care staff
- Voluntary sector organisations
We understand that resources are stretched with tight budgets and work schedules and making the time for training can be challenging. This is why we are able to offer you a range of courses including e-learning packages which are free to access.
